Smart and safe work wear at Baltic Fashion & Textile Vilnius

The project “Smart and Safe Work Wear Clothing SWW” of the Interreg Baltic Sea Region Program carried out under 2014-2020 European territorial cooperation objective will be presented in the frames of the international fashion & textile fair. The project partner is Faculty of Arts and Creative Technologies of Vilnius kolegija/University of Applied Sciences. Thematic priority of the project is Capacity for Innovation. Lead partner – Centria University of Applied Sciences in Kokkola (Finland). Project duration 1st of March 2016 – 28th of February 2019. The main goal of the project is to improve competitiveness and to increase business possibilities for work wear enterprises in the Baltic Sea Region. The project focuses on mass customization of products for various end users. During project implementation SWW team will undertake the following actions to reach their target:
•apply modern 3D body scanning technology to conceive functionally and aesthetically innovative better fitting work wear garments,
•enhance workers’ safety and wellbeing by incorporating advanced wearable electronics into their work wear,
•introduce newly created work wear to end users and design a model for small and medium size companies,
•improve supply chain management.
The project engages skilful textile and clothing manufacturing technology researchers, work wear producers, end users as well as national textile and clothing branch organizations in Finland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and Poland. More information www.centria.fi/SWW.
